Mom’s Story :: Miranda Zolman

Home/Mom’s Story :: Miranda Zolman

I have always dreamed of being a mother. Naturally, following my marriage to my incredible husband, Dave, in 2013, we started trying for our 1st baby. After what felt like forever, we discovered that we were pregnant in July of 2014. Our excitement quickly turned to grief as we discovered that our sweet baby had no heartbeat at 13 weeks.

Following the devastating loss of our baby, we knew we had to keep trying. After a surgery to fix a structural issue in my uterus, we discovered that we were pregnant on my husband’s birthday in September 2015. We were finally getting our long waited rainbow baby!

Sadly, however, our rainbow was not meant to be. Following a very complicated pregnancy, we lost our son Elliott at 23 wks and 1 day on January 16th, 2016. He was a perfect 10 ounces and looked exactly like his handsome Daddy.

After we lost Elliott, our grief was unbearable. We struggled emotionally, physically, and spiritually to navigate our new “normal.” Thankfully during my time of grief, Project Gabriel provided me with a safe place to share my story and my heart.

Since our loss, my husband and I have not given up hope. We have endured devastating fertility diagnoses, endured two rounds of IVF and hundreds of injections on our quest to parenthood. We pray that soon we will be able to share the news that we have dreamed of for so many years.

Hope is never lost, sweet friends. God is always there even when you feel alone in your grief. I am praying for each of you as you nativate your own journeys.

Hugs, Miranda Zolman
